library
On the WWW a library is a collection of information. Most often the term
library describes a collection of programs, or subroutine procedures, written in a
common language such as C or Pascal, which can be used together. These subroutines
perform common tasks, so grouping these them together makes it easier for a programmer
to combine them, as needed, to develop new programs more quickly.
